about me.

who is this gocleau person anyway?

Pleased to meet ya! I am Michael, and my online name/gamertag is gocleau, which is pronounced like go-slow.  I am an artist and content creator, originally from Colorado, but currently based out of Southern California.  I have been practicing art in a serious fashion since roughly 2001, and I got into digital art three years later in 2004.  My first foray into 3D character art and digital assets was on a program called MilkShape3D, and I painted UVs in Photoshop.  I also apprenticed at the Stan Winston School for painting and practical art, learning how to paint skin with acrylic paint on plaster.  Today I use these skills together, along with programs like Substance Painter and the Arnold Render engine to create renders, assets and other digital art. I still do practical art as well, but not as much as I would like. I am currently a student at Woodbuy University.

I do commissions!  The price is based on how much you have, and the scope of the project – hit me up via email or discord for inquiries (see contact page), or to see previous work I have done professionally, and to see what things I generally offer click on the services page. For more info about me click “find out more” below.

I want to say, I would not be where I am right now if not for my wife, who inspires me in every way imaginable. I also have to give a shoutout to Leo, our cat.

current project.

Currently I am working on the Post-Dystopian diorama for school that exists in the same world as the Text-Based Adventures set on Earth 2074.  I am also currently working on the Text-Based Adventures, building the world and working on Lore, again for school.
